The Harvest Pack team kicked off May with the amazing opportunity to participate in the 3M Experience.

On May 5th, Harvest Pack had the opportunity of being a part of The 3M Experience at 3M's headquarters in Maplewood, MN, aided by the nonprofit HandsOn Twin Cities. Included in the 3M experience were multiple volunteer events, with Harvest Pack focusing on feeding the hungry in the Twin Cities. Outside of these volunteering events, 3M held a volunteer fair, where nonprofit organizations from throughout the Twin Cities were able to share their missions with 3M employees.

 

 

During the Harvest Pack portion of this impactful event, over 120 volunteers from 3M joined forces to pack an incredible 56,642 meals for Every Meal, a local nonprofit organization. These meals will support Every Meal’s weekend backpack program, which provides nutritious food to children experiencing food insecurity.

“Every Meal sees the food gap that children face during the weekends, when they have no access to free school meals. Every Meal’s weekend backpack program offers 20 different meal assortments for children and families facing food insecurity. Out of these 20 meal assortments, Harvest Pack meals are included in three, helping to close the continuous food gap.”

At Harvest Pack, we recognize that childhood hunger remains a persistent and growing challenge, particularly during the summer months when many children lose access to school meal programs.
